Good work by Mike to get these out… they are aptly named exhibition files because they are not to be used during the regular season. The fact that they were made will inevitably lead Jake to start cursing….

January 18th at 1PM EST. Most likely will be spearheaded by Jake. Be there or, well, be like the Brewers and don’t draft again this year.
Mike Horvath has once again updated the archive file, which is appropriately added here under archives.

The Chicago White Sox, managed by interim manager Keith Dvorchik, won the 2008 ICBL World Series 4 games to 3. In what was an epic 7 game series, the White Sox were able to push across just enough runs for the series win. In the end, 6 of the 7 games were decided by 2 runs or less.
The Milwaukee Brewers (managed ironically by Jeff Brewer) were up 3 games to 2 heading home after winning a slug fest in game 5 14-12. Through the 1st 4 games of the series, the home team had held serve. Unfortunately for the Brewers, this do not hold true again.
In the end, the White Sox won on the arms of SP “Big Game” James Shields (.56 ERA) and Kelvim Escobar (2 wins) as well the big bats of JJ Hardy (.304 BAVG, 5 RBI) and Barry Bonds (6 RBI) as well as a slew of others in the World Series winners very balanced attack. The back end of the bullpen was also impressive for Chicago as Joakim Soira and John Papelbon combined for 10 1/3 IP and just 2 runs allowed.
The runner up Brewers suffered from a lack of production from most of their lineup. Unlike the White Sox, Milwaukee was forced to rely upon David Wright (6 RBI) and Dan Uggla (10 RBI) for the majority of its production. Curt Schilling continued his post season mastery even though he took the loss in game 7 by tossing 13 strong inning in the series. He had hoped to give one last FU to a certain owner in TB, but alas in the end, he suffered a catastrophic arm injury that will keep him out for the 2009 season and quite likely will end his career. Rafael Betancourt, Billy Wagner and Derrick Turnbow kept the Brewers hopes alive throughout the series by tossing 15 1/3 IP while allowing just 2 runs.
Congrats to the White Sox for winning the World Series, Steve Pejchl (even though he bailed on us for putting together one heck of a team) and Keith for managing it well enough to bring home the trophy.

The regular season is over. With some issue with games not getting played in the end, a huge thanks to Mike H for his hard work and dilligence in poking/prodding folks across the finish line.
With that said, much congratulations to our 8 playoff teams. In the AL we will see the Chicago White Sox face off against the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays face off against the Los Angeles Angels. In the NL, the Milwaukee Brewers face the Washington Nationals and the Colorado Rockies face the Houston Astros.
I have updated the web version of the 2008 season and the league encyclopedia/record books. I know Mike is also working on updates the the other league files. Have a look at the sutff we’ve put together.
