2012 Draft Order – Final
2011 Rule Changes:
Following are some rule changes that will be put into effect this year.
These changes are the result of previous experiences and the lively discussion held earlier this offseason.
They will be reflected in the constitution as well.
1) There is now a 3/4 game deadline, on August 31st. If you don’t have 61 home games done by then, you get penalized, and the league can make its own arrangements for completing your games.
2) There are also deadlines for each playoff series. They are 4, 7, and 10 weeks, respectively after the end of the regular season. The penalties apply to both teams, and can also result in TLO arranging to play your series for you. Obviously, it takes coordination of 2 people to get these done, and we will apply best judgement in cases where clearly one manager is “to blame.” If you are having difficulty reaching or arranging things with the other manager, it will benefit you to make this known prior to your deadline expiring.
3) The GT date will be fixed as the 2nd weekend in June for the next 3 years. We’ll monitor attendance during that time and decide whether to extend the plan beyond 2013 after the GT that year. So get your vacation requests in now!
4) As for giving your CMs to opposing managers who will be playing your road games for you, you will be required to post them on the bulletin board Jeff has set up. This will be the metric for assigning penalties in cases where managers have to play your games for you without the benefit of instructions.
5) The computer game is required for all league gameplay. This has really been in practice for some time, but now its “official” and appropriate entries in the constitution have been modified to reflect it.
6) League dues are $5, and are due Jan 1st for the following year. This is not actually a new rule, but I will let you pay this year’s and next year’s dues at this year’s GT for your convenience. As of next Jan 1, though, if you have not paid for 2011 and 2012, your access to the league website will be draconicly removed. For those who wish to mail me dues, my address is
505 Polo Club Dr
Glendale Heights, IL 60139
There were other potential changes discussed also that may not have been as popular, but please continue to volunteer ideas and constructive criticism for the league as appropriate.
And Sam’s movement to banish this mailgroup marches on…
